It's your very first alpaca purchase and it's so tempting to choose based on cuteness, but usually not the wisest decision. 

You also shouldn't purchase based on just a bloodline name, a histogram result or a ribbon winning.  While these are great tools to help you choose, you need to look at all of these plus many more aspects in order to make an informed decision.  

Shearing Weight, Density, Coverage, Maintaining Fineness, Lack of Guard Hair, Conformation, Bite, Staple Length, Congenital Defects, Family History, Breeding History, EPD's, GEP to name a few!

It's a lot to learn when first starting out and many breeders will tell you their first purchase was not the wisest choice.  That's where we come in.  We've done the work for you!  All of our alpacas possess the qualities we feel will move you forward in the industry and they are priced accordingly.  At Arriba, you really do get what you pay for.....and they are still cute!
